Terrorism Vs Acts of Gun Terror
So...death by "terrorism" is worse than death by gun-wielding disturbed individuals and we're happy to give up privacy and liberty to avoid the first but NOT willing to institute background checks on people trying to buy guns who MIGHT be planning the latter (or take other common sense steps). This despite the higher body count by many of the gun wielders vs the Boston Marathon bomb (assuming it turns out to be the act of a terrorist group either domestic or foreign). It's clear we vote and legislate based on emotion, not logic.

It's already going viral but I'll add the link here because it's so brilliant--Gabby Giffords on today's vote, a scathing critique of cowardice in the face of the NRA. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/18/opinion/a-senate-in-the-gun-lobbys-grip.html?_r=0

I'm forever grateful that she wasn't silenced by her shooter.
