I was reading elsewhere about Smorgastarta, these Swedish sandwich cakes. They look like frosted cakes but the "frosting" covers layers of bread and either meats or veg fillings. The frosting can be anything from cream and mayo to sour cream/cream fraiche with a little added mayo, or anything really. I'd like to experiment with vegetarian fillings, some good whole grain bread and maybe a tzatziki style frosting. They are served in slices like a cake and eaten with a fork. Or you can do like one of the guests in the video and just smash your face into it. Like I said, the demo is hilarious and obviously tongue-in-cheek.
I think you could use mini-round loaves to make smaller, individual serving sizes.
