Shaking My Head
I am sure by now that most everyone has heard or read about the Costa Concordia and its spineless captain. He claimed he was unable to lead the evacuation because he slipped and tripped into a lifeboat while helping passengers leave the stricken vessel.

That's all you got? Translation: "Oops, I accidentally rescued myself first so I couldn't help my passengers evacuate."

I'm not trying to downplay the kind of courage it would take to help everyone evacuate before you do, not at all. But before I'd take that kind of job I'd think long and hard about whether I had what it takes to do so.

I am so sad for all those passengers who trusted in him and didn't make it out.

Yes I have lost track of how many times his entire story has changed now.

I forget the name but there was another captain on board, on vacation I guess, who pitched in and helped with the evacuation and did more for the passengers than their own captain.

I feel so sorry for those poor passengers, both the living and the dead. I recall the couple who was on their honeymoon and got rescued after many hours in the ship in cold water.

The only reason the death toll wasn't as bad as the Titanic is that they were close to land and some people ended up rescuing themselves.
