'A john said to me, "I thought we killed all of you," '
Open Letter to the PocaHotties and Indian Warriors this Halloween

Add to this all other insulting costumes drawn from oppressed minorities and mocking their culture.

A new study sheds light on the unthinkably brutal life of Native American women involved in prostitution.

Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation

"Pine Ridge Reservation, located in South Dakota, is home to the Oglala Sioux Tribe and is 2,000,000 acres large with an estimated population of close to 40,000. The reservation is large, and its needs immense, commensurate with grinding poverty. Unemployment is over 80%, the weather is extreme, and families struggle mightily with crushing financial, housing, health, educational and social issues."

This website posts needs and helps distribute contributions to the community. There is no contribution too small. "Please do not underestimate the importance of a small donation. Your contribution, sent directly to a reservation organization--even if only a single pair of socks for a child who has none--makes a huge impact when combined with many others."

Pine Ridge is a third world community in the middle of a first world country--a country stolen from them. The soil there is not good enough to grow food crops. The location makes it impossible to have viable casinos. The only usable land was taken from them when it proved useful to white people.
