All 3 of my domains are down, including GR
I suspect that my former workplace/current ISP has cut off my free service rather abruptly. We used to give a month's warning when I was in charge of billing. I've written to two co-workers to find out if this is indeed the case and negotiate time to get my files, especially GR's, in order to transfer them. I understand why my former independent Mom and Pop ISP must charge so much for domains and hosting, but I can't pay it with no income.

Meanwhile I have no email through labyris and that's where most of my email is routed through. So...a quiet email day for me I guess.

ETA: apparently the fiber optic cable being cut affected some Cruzio hosted domains but not others. I have the "classic" variety which were all affected. They should have it back up before long.

You don't think it's just the outage? Much of Santa Cruz didn't have internet access for most of the day.

It turns out that's what it is, but Cruzio's status page didn't say that for most of the day. They've now put up a page so when you try to access the domains it says it's because of the fiber optic cable being cut. It was confusing because I could get to Cruzio, and some of Cruzio's other hosted domains, just fine.

we couldn't get to our status page for most of the day, nothing in, nothing out, it totally sucked. we got the phones updated but couldn't get to the web status page.

That's what made it confusing, the status page made no mention of anything which led me to believe it was just my domains. The GR members were also bewildered. I really, really hope they catch these fuckers for affecting so many people. I hope they don't find out someone needed 911 and died because they couldn't call out.

So sorry you were affected!
Staff weren't even able to update the Network Status page for quite a while, due to the outage. Sounds like yesterday really sucked for your online communities.

Re: So sorry you were affected!
Yeah my members at GR were totally bewildered and so was I, because you guys couldn't get the status page updated and so I thought it was just my domains. I could see Cruzio, and even some Cruzio hosted pages. It sounds like yesterday really sucked for you guys too! I hope they catch these fuckers!
