Bizarre, creepy ad for jeans
What were they thinking? Warning: graphic, creepy pictures of ads for Wrangler jeans. Link from feministing.

GROSS.

"We are animals" just about sums up the ad guys who came up with that.

Yeah, and maybe they think other guys are just like them.

More to the point, ARE they thinking? I often wonder if the ad industry, like my photog husband, get locked into the "image" and never move a bit past the optic nerve? Unfortunately, for the rest of us, they are looking at the optic nerve while STANDING on our LAST nerve. Idiots.

Maybe they even thought controversy would only bring more attention to their brand...I don't know.

Wow, size 4--obese? It's amazing how you can take a beautiful girl like that and by saying these things over and over make her start to feel fat when she's clearly not. That's how insidious this stuff is.

The antidote is, of course, to surround ourselves with positive images of women of all sizes and expand our concept of beauty. Obviously this concept is very malleable and that can work in our favor too.

I'm a size 24, so I shudder to think what that makes me...
