In Praise of Maya Angelou
A Kind of Love, Some Say

Maya Angelou

Is it true the ribs can tell
The kick of a beast from a
Lover's fist? The bruised
Bones recorded well
The sudden shock, the
Hard impact. Then swollen lids,
Sorry eyes, spoke not
Of lost romance, but hurt.

Hate often is confused. Its
Limits are in zones beyond itself. And
Sadists will not learn that
Love by nature, exacts a pain
Unequaled on the rack.

And who can forget Phenomenal Woman?

a perfect world
My dream for a perfect world is no one is hurt by anyone or anything ever again!

In one Of Ananda's more recent postings, he said he was kind of fried with the Gaudiya's idea of love, "Love me while I kick you and/or ignore you"
[paraphrased from Siksastakam]

Here's to humanity evolving: learning what is real love, love in action, the gradations of it [such as agape and philos], and having a safe living situation, good mental health, and ideal circumstances where people can experience it.

With enough food to eat, safe shelter, enough meds and clothes to wear, good education, work well matched with one's natural proclivities.

My wish for the world and everyone!
Karuna and Maitri: Compassion and Loving-Kindness.

Thanks, Tapati, for all you do to make this happen for others! Happy Beltane!

Re: a perfect world
You're welcome! That's why I speak out, to raise awareness so we can all work on these things.
