Bush manages to top his previous stupidity record
I didn't think it was possible for Bush to be even more clueless than he had been in the past, but apparently it is. His latest foot-in-mouth moment? Regarding Afghanistan, he said the following:

"If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed. It must be exciting for you...in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger." (Quote from Reuters, undisputed by White House)

Barbara Starr pointed out that while current military personnel can't publicly disagree with the Commander in Chief, "...I can tell you there were plenty of rolling eyeballs around here earlier today as these remarks were being spread around" [the Pentagon.]

Hey George, I hear your schedule is clear after January 20, 2009--you can enlist and experience the joy of being on the front lines for yourself. It's never too late to enjoy the fruits of war.

That's right up there with when he said something like "that's terrific" when that lady told him she was holding down two jobs. o.O
