In case there was any doubt...
Misogyny is alive and well: man kills baby daughter because he wanted a son.

Unbelievable. He couldn't just try again?
A radiant bundle of fascinating contradictions: fistdalbino83 on January 11th, 2008 08:59 pm (UTC)
Maybe the mother of his daughter didn't want to get intimate with him again. And who else would spread her legs for this guy? He's no prize!

Yeah really.

Good point.

I am sure he'll get a warm reception in prison, though...

The catch is, one has to have the capacity to become a better person in the first place. Some people just have too far to go.

I'd say, rather, that parenting is one path to practicing selflessness and unconditional love. Parents aren't always selfless, but they are forced continually to put another's needs before their own in an intensive manner that is rarely duplicated in other relationships--though caregiving for a chronically or terminally ill spouse, parent, friend, or other relative would also provide that same opportunity for personal growth.

Others can get these opportunities through volunteer work.

In the spirit of unconditional love, I made Lakshmana the most amazing feast to celebrate his 30th birthday and dropped it off the night before in a box with ice packs. I know I'll probably never get a thank you or even know if he ate it or threw it away. Yet it was still a joyful exercise because no matter what, I still love him dearly.
