Speaking of abusive ex-husbands who died
...one of the books I was reading last night was Double Shot by Diane Mott Davidson. In it her abusive ex-husband "The Jerk" (initials JRK) was murdered and she found the body, making her the prime suspect. I was reflecting that if my ex ever is killed I hope I'm far away and have an air tight alibi.

Then today I see in the news that another abusive ex-husband, Ike Turner, passed away of natural causes. I bet that Tina, no matter how forgiving she has tried to be, has at least a small, secret smile on her face today.

I have to say, that by Diane Mott Davidson's twelfth book about caterer Goldy Schulz we are as relieved as she is that her abuser is dead. Though sadly she has mixed feelings given that her son is distraught and she is a suspect. Too bad she can't just enjoy the relief and the feeling of peace and security. At one point she realizes that keeping the security system armed is no longer the dire necessity it was when her ex was alive and still occasionally trying to assault her.

I really recommend the book and the series.
