This should win an irony award--if we had one


Bush, responding to the new Al-Zawahiri tape:

"The U.S. president described the ideology of al-Zawahiri and his adherents as "dark, dim, backwards. They don't appreciate women. If you don't agree to their narrow view of a religion, you'll be whipped in the public square."


Nice counterpoint to the article I linked to earlier about Christian extremists. Although, to Bush's credit he has acknowledged that those of us who are not Christians are Americans too. Nice of him, don't you think?
