Time capsule--Cheney on Iraq, 1994
Everyone else is pointing to this classic Youtube footage of Cheney in 1994 explaining why we didn't topple Saddam Hussein then and how Iraq might end up divided between other countries and how many lives we could lose. I recall people pointing to these things before we invaded Iraq, in fact. I suppose Cheney thought he was older and wiser, but apparently his heart disease has resulted in oxygen loss to his brain at some point.

Here's the video.

Look how sorry he sounds about the men lost in the Desert Storm operation...where's his sorrow now?

I think when he sold his soul to Satan, he threw in his conscience as a bonus.

Either that or he felt that displaying remorse was a way to shut down questions about why they didn't topple Saddam back then. Who wants to argue that we should have gotten more soldiers killed? Except now, when it suits their purpose to do so.

Perhaps what he meant to say is, "We are not prepared to risk getting bogged down in Iraq at this time. We have to get all of our oil buddies and contractors in line for government contracts first, then we'll be ready to spill American blood for our financial gain."
