The Time is Now
author unknown, from Annie's Mailbox column:

If you are ever going to love me,
Love me now, while I can know

The sweet and tender feelings,
Which from true affection flow

Love me now, while I am living
Do not wait until I'm gone

And then have it chiseled in marble
Sweet words on ice-cold stone.

If you have tender thoughts of me,
Please tell me now

If you wait until I am sleeping
Never to awaken

There will be death between us
And I won't hear you then

So, if you love me,
even a little bit,

Let me know while I am still living,
So I can treasure it

I remember when my son was in a coma after his accident that one of the things that consoled me was that the night before he had given me a kiss goodnight.

It's so important to let the people we love know so we won't be tormented by regret later.

Just thought I'd pass on this reminder.

I'm sitting here bawling my eyes out...

{{{hugs}}} I didn't think about how it might strike you in your present situation. I'm so sorry!

You know, that never even crossed my mind? I just saw the truth and the beauty inherent in the words, and true to myself, fell apart. :) I'm a sap. A big, huge sap. LOL

Me, too.

I always wonder why so many people will come out for a funeral, yet if you were having a 60th birthday bash or the like, a fraction of them would show up. (Granted, some people come to funerals who are peripheral to your life and you might not even think to invite them to said party, but you know what I mean.)

Now is the only time we have for sure.

Amen to that.
