I've come to the conclusion that I must have rebound headaches at this point. I knew about the phenomenon but I'd become lax about avoiding them--because basically if you have five headaches a week you can only take pain meds for two of those days and must tough it out the other three. I had grown weary of doing so and started using my pain meds four out of five days at least. Oops. Now I have to go cold turkey (it's not even safe to substitute another medication unless I could take imitrex).

Estimates vary regarding how long it takes to get back to "normal."

On the bright side, the headache diet is continuing to cause weight loss and I've lost a total of 6 pounds. Personally I'd rather be free of pain than thinner.
