This Halloween Season
For this Halloween Season, can people just give up the fascination with The Burning Times as exaggerated by faulty historical research, abandon the notion that there were (9 million) real witches being burned at the stake rather than unfortunate loaners and unpopular villagers or those whose property was coveted, and just stop guilt tripping the world about this fabled past? Now that the history has been more thoroughly examined it just exposes our ignorance to hang on to the false version.

On a related note, can the liberal and various alternative communities take a look at how oppression and victimization have become some kind of card to be played in order to gain power or attention within our social groups? Can we instead invest in and celebrate our strengths while calmly negotiating for whatever accommodations or corrections to stereotypes we'd prefer?

Just a thought--inspired by a Cauldron thread.
