Ball's in their court
Without talking to us the landlords left again early this morning. Not quite sure why they came down for just a day, other than to spy on us and see if we'd pitched our guests out the door upon their demand. After getting my heartfelt letter I suppose they are going back to either think it over or craft their eviction notice. Their daughter is a lawyer and they've evicted tenants before (once at least, when they decided they wanted to live in the front unit whenever they came down to visit). So...we'll see. If they really do take it that far after reading that letter (see previous post for text) I don't want to be their tenant and give them any more of my money anyway. Though this is a sucky time to move when I don't have a current job. I guess I can say that I'm doing consulting, especially since I actually did consult for the local AIDS org recently.

One of my friends might be able to take them in if her partner agrees, if my landlords really do go that far. We'll have to ponder whether we should just all move in together in a new apartment or house or what...we'll know more after we find out the amount of the grant my daugher will get for the 3 of them.

On the bright side I had a good first appointment with my therapist and I really liked her. It's about time something went right.

I also got an interview offer from an employer who found my revised resume using the search function (I had taken the 2 mo. job out). Unfortunately, they ended up finding the person of their dreams on the first day of interviews...but they will keep me in mind. It was a wine distributor. Oh well. At least I've gotten more calls back this week than I had been. So I now know that taking that short term job out was the best call.

I hope your landlords give you a bit of breathing room. Eviction isn't instantaneous, is it? I know up here, it takes about three months. I really want you to start getting better news!

It takes at least 30 days, more if you fight it.

I'm hoping they discover their humanity on the long drive home.

We could really use some good news. I take my good experience with my new therapist as a hopeful sign. That and starting to get calls again for interviews. It was really hammering my self esteem when no one was calling.
