pondering MBP

My assignment is to ponder my childhood experiences with Munchausen's by Proxy and how that's affected me. I am working with some people who are doing a documentary on MBP. But how do I separate out the MBP aspects of my childhood from the rest of it? I just sat down and tried to simply write about the supposed illnesses I was told I had, the procedures and surgeries, but how to capture also the lies, the insane rages, the cold silences, the weekends where Mom was in bed in her darkened room, the absent father who I met in fourth grade by accident, my mother's suicide attempts, her filthy house...the whole awful experience that I had to engineer my own early escape from?

You had to have been there.
