Back Home!
Hi, everyone!

I am home and doing pretty well. I will have my neck collar on for quite awhile, day and night. I have two of them, one for showering and one they fitted me for yesterday that I will use the rest of the time. I just got home a few hours ago. As always, I wish I could have my adjustable hospital bed. Those things are so convenient for recuperating. But I got a wedge for my bed before I went to the hospital and arranged our apartment to be as comfortable as possible considering that I'm not supposed to bend or lift or move my neck back and forth at all.

I appreciate the good wishes and prayers and look forward to eventually getting back to normal and finishing up my story. My arm is already (knock on wood) back to its pre-nerve pain self. The neck pain isn't even as bad as the arm pain was before the surgery (yet I have good meds, something I knew would happen in advance and was frustrated about when I was dealing with all that pre-surgery pain). I will taper off of them as soon as I can, though.

Dave is staying home with me tomorrow so we can get a sense for what kind of assistance I might need and gauge how much he can work during this early point in my recovery. It will be nice to spend some time together after being apart most of these past few days. He has been so wonderful through all of this and I know it was at least as hard for him as it was for me. I often think that it's more difficult to be the one worrying than the one going through these things.

Thanks again for all of your kind thoughts and wishes.
